A peaceful retreat on the outskirts of Bath

    Rooms

    We have three carefully deisgned bedrooms, all with vaulted ceilings, electronically operated velux roof windows and blackout blinds. There are two double bedrooms, each with large wardrobes, and one smaller room with a sturdy bunkbed (also fits adults) and plenty of storage space underneath.

    Dining

    The feature room of the Hayloft is the large open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equiped with everything you would expect, but you can also pop over and ask for anything else you need. The dining area seats six people, and we can provide a Stokke baby chair if you need one. Patio also seats six people, it’s a lovely spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

    Amenities

    We have tried to think of everything you need for a cosy, peaceful and entertaining stay at the Hayloft, or (worst case) it is also a peaceul base to work remotely. We have fast internet, sonos sound system, boardgames, a woodburning stove, and TV with every channel / app you can think of, available free of charge - including all sports channels.

    Discover Bath

    We moved to Foxcote because it offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful rural retreat with views across beautiful countryside, but only a 15 minute drive into the centre of Bath, a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. If you are feeling adventurous you can cycle into Bath along the amazing two tunnels cycle path, with some great pubs and cafes along the way. If you are bringing your own bikes or renting when you are here, we have secure cycle storage available and all of the tools you might need.

THINGS TO DO

  • Historic Roman-style bath with stone columns, arches, and a water-filled pool under a sunset sky.

    The Roman Baths

    One of the finest historic sites in Northern Europe. Once the site of one of the great religious spas of the ancient world; the people of Roman Britain came to the site to worship the goddess Sulis Minerva and bathe in the waters of the natural thermal springs, which still flow with hot water today.

    Bike Park, Longleat

    This is a fantastic MTB park with route options for all abilities – it is a fairly basic setup though and you will need to find somewhere to rent bikes.

    Longleat Safari Park

    Was opened in 1966 as the world's first drive-through safari park outside Africa. It is in the grounds of Longleat House, the home of the 8th Marquess of Bath. In addition to the main house, attractions include a Safari Park and the Longleat Railway.
